Easter Meets - 113th this year
The biggest MUST-DO in the Clarion is the annual Easter Meet. It's a packed weekend of relaxation and riding. You choose how much of each you do.
This year's meet - was a snowy Stamford
Despite very poor weather one of the rides went ahead the 11.2mile hilly Time Trial won by Fenland Clarion's Lynden Leadbeater, by 1 second (1.5 pedal revs) from Dave Langlands also from Fenland, in equal 3rd Paul Asplin helped Fenland win the team prize.
The Sportive was cancelled due to snow and will be rescheduled to May.
We had some great fun in the local bars, restaurants and had some fantastic entertainment in the evening at the Lady Anne's Hotel.
Celebrating our return to Ashbourne after 110 years, we modified an old design to become a label for a specially commissioned beer...beers and bikes, a great combo in the right order (and safely!)
Isaac Walton hotel Dove Dale, Ashbourne, the site of an outdoor conference in 1895
and below 100 years earlier...the 1st ever Easter Meet
1961 Meet at Gt Malvern - Allen Armstrong & Colin Armstrong of Teeside section...that's 46 yrs ago and they still ride with the Clarion.
