EASTER MEET 2012 - Buxton - in the High Peak

The 2012 Easter Meet will be held at Buxton in the Peak District amongst some of the most stunning countryside in the England. Organised by the Stockport Clarion....

Friday 6th to Monday 9th of April

Why Buxton? We were first in Buxton in 1912 so this will be the 100th Anniversary. We

were last in Buxton 47 years ago in 1965. This will be our 10th Visit since 1912.

Buxton has many great attractions, from the Pavillion Gardens, Opera House and antiques fair, to Buxton Spring Water (fill up your bottles for free!).

There are many great cycling routes in the area, from the challenging Winnats Pass, Cat & Fiddle, Goyt Valley climbs to the flat (former railway lines) of the Monsal and Tissington Trails.

2. Check in to the hotel and sign in for the meet and collect your 'Meet Ribbon'

3. Civic reception to meet the Mayor of Buxton

Saturday 7th

1. Annual Conference

2. Social Rides

3. Youth Crit Races (under 16) (entry fee extra) TBA

4. Clarion Party, including Buffet and Entertainment

Sunday 8th

1. Social rides for all abilities

2. National Clarion Hill Climb Champs (fee extra)

3. MTB/Cyclo Cross uphill and downhill skillz challenge

4. Watch Paris Roubaix live (in a bar somewhere)

5. National Clarion Champions Night and Gala Dinner

The Meet will be split between the Pavillion Gardens and the Palace Hotel. There are reduced rates for NCCC guests; quote ‘National Clarion’ when booking Palace Hotel Single room £60 pppn & Double £45 pppn.
